• Four-wire harness and four-pin connector
• Class IV hitch receiver with 6300-lb. capacity

Trailer Sway Control

Trailer sway control works in conjunction with AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™) to detect trailer sway and reduce it as necessary. Watch the video below to see how this feature works.

Available tow technology features include the following:

• BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with crosstraffic alert and trailer coverage
• Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package with 9200-lb. maximum trailer weight rating
• Integrated trailer brake controller
• Pro Trailer Backup Assist™

2018 Expedition Pro Trailer Backup Assist™

“More than 50 percent of Expedition customers value towing, and 15 percent tow weekly or monthly. That’s why the all-new Expedition offers Pro Trailer Backup Assist to make backing up a trailer as easy as turning a knob.” – Ford Motor Company

The Expedition’s new Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ makes maneuvering a trailer easier by autonomously controlling the vehicle speed and wheels while the driver focuses on where they want the trailer to go. By turning a knob, drivers can dictate which direction they would like the trailer to go and the Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ does the rest. Watch the demonstration video below of an F-150 using the same technology.

This new technology is the first of its kind for the full-size SUV market and aims to reduce time spent backup trailers in order to increase time spent on the water, on the trails or wherever your summer excursions take you.

Integrated Trailer Brake Controller

The Integrated Trailer Brake Controller makes braking and slowing down with a trailer attached smooth and effective. When used properly, the trailer brake controller assists trailer braking by powering the trailer’s electric or electric-over-hydraulic brakes with a proportional output based on the towing vehicle’s brake pressure. You can adjust the amount of initial trailer brake output by selecting one of three settings through the message center. The video below from Ford demonstrates the technology.

See the chart for Ford-verified brands and model numbers of TBC-compatible EOH brake systems. There may be other EOH brake systems not shown in the chart. Those systems have not been Ford compatibility-tested with the TBC and are not recommended for use. Ford TBC is not compatible with any trailer equipped with a surge-type brake system.
