2018 Explorer Limited Design
The Ford Explorer has been given an all-new design for 2018. As soon as you walk up to the Explorer Limited, you're sure to notice the bold new grille and the elegant front and rear fascias as well as the LED signature lighting. Chrome bodyside cladding accents and door handles come together to make the sides of the Explorer Limited stand out just as much as the front and rear do. The Explorer Limited has also been outfitted with available Rain-Sensing wipers that use sensors to detect the optimal wiping speed no matter how hard it's raining. These wipers are sure to become a fan-favorite.
On the inside, the 2018 Explorer Limited features room to seat up to seven adults comfortably. Both the second- and third-row of seats fold, 50/50 in back and 60/40 in the second-row, allowing you to configure the inside of your Explorer Limited based on how many passengers and how much cargo you've got to haul. There are also many cargo hooks inside of the Explorer Limited to help keep whatever you're hauling safe. For all the chilly mornings we experience here in Alberta, the standard heated steering wheel inside of the Explorer Limited is sure to keep your hands cold no matter how long or short your adventure lasts.
2018 Explorer Limited Technology
In addition to its new exterior design, the 2018 Explorer Limited also features some amazing and innovative technologies. One of these technologies, the available Blind Spot Information System, is able to utilize sensors located along the side panels of the vehicle to keep watch over your blind spots. When the system detects another vehicle entering an area that you may not be able to see, it will automatically send you an alert on the appropriate side-view mirror letting you know that it isn't safe to change lanes quite yet. While this feature is helpful, we still always recommend physically checking before changing lanes.
Also available on the 2018 Explorer Limited is an Adaptive Cruise Control system. Sensors located on the front of the vehicle are able to monitor the distance between your explorer Limited and the car ahead of you. When it senses that the distance between the two vehicles is beginning to shrink, it will automatically slow down your engine speed in order to keep you and your passengers at a safe distance away from the car ahead of you. When traffic clears or speeds up, you'll automatically return to your set cruising speed, negating the need to manually adjust your speed when you catch up to traffic.
