Ford’s Police Pursuit-Rated Pickup

Come fall, law enforcement agencies will have the opportunity to up their pursuit game with Ford’s latest police responder model. Just as the 2018 F-150 will be being released so will the Police Responder model of the pickup, the first of its kind and with performance features to optimize patrol efforts.

“Ford’s 2018 F-150 Police Responder is the perfect all-terrain law enforcement vehicle,” said Stephen Tyler, Ford’s police brand marketing manager. “Aside from its industry-first on-road pursuit capability, this purpose-built pickup can comfortably seat five, while providing capability in off-road patrol situations for officers in rural environments patrolled by sheriff’s departments, border patrol operations and the Department of Natural Resources.”

2018 F-150 Pursuit-Rated Performance

Operating with complete off-road capability and on-road performance, the 2018 F-150 Police Responder offers departments enhanced versatility in the field as well as a number of durability features.

Fit with Ford’s EcoBoost technology and 10-speed SelectShift® transmission, the F-150 Police Responder is able to put 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. Of torque. To accommodate any pursuits on uneven terrain, the pickup also features Ford’s four-wheel drive system and FX4 Off-Road Suspension system.

Tailored to the needs of officers on patrol, features of the 2018 F-150 have been re-calibrated for the Police Responder model to meet specific law enforcement needs.
