Rumors have been circulating for almost a year, and, finally, the return of the Ford Bronco is all but confirmed. We can expect the iconic Ford SUV to be released before 2020, but it might be available even sooner than that. In the meantime, let’s take a closer look at the history of the Ford Bronco and how it is expected to perform in today’s market.
The Ford Bronco SUV was originally released in 1966 and was manufactured until 1996. At first, the Bronco was built to compete against compact SUVs. Through the years, however, it was made larger and more suited for off-road performance. The Ford Bronco is renowned for being rough, tough, and built to take you off the beaten path. Most of you probably remember the Ford Bronco as a key player in the trial of O.J. Simpson as he rode shotgun in his friend’s 1993 white Ford Bronco during a slow-speed police chase through Los Angeles.
20 years later, it’s time to bring the Bronco back.
Off-road SUVs have become increasingly popular since the mid-nineties, so the Ford Bronco will likely make a big splash when it returns to the Ford lineup. In the past, key competitors included the Jeep Wrangler, Chevy Blazer, and Dodge Ramcharger. With the advancement of key automotive components and technology, it’s safe to say the all-new Ford Bronco will have a leg up on current off-road SUVs.
Although we don’t currently have much information regarding the return of the Ford Bronco, we will keep you updated as more details become available. Meanwhile, feel free to check out our new Ford inventory at Sherwood Ford and schedule a time to get behind the wheel today!
