{"id":136,"date":"2016-05-24T17:30:22","date_gmt":"2016-05-24T17:30:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dealerfireblog.com\/sherwoodford\/?p=136"},"modified":"2024-05-27T08:12:31","modified_gmt":"2024-05-27T08:12:31","slug":"2017-ford-fusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sherwoodford.ca\/blog\/2017-ford-fusion\/","title":{"rendered":"Bottles Win Big In The 2017 Ford Fusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cupholders have a small convenience with a big impact! \u00a0If you&#8217;re like everyone else, you use cupholders for more than just bottles and cups! \u00a0 While these come in \u00a0all sizes, we also love to fill our vehicle cupholders with stuff, like mobile devices and loose change. \u00a0So after conducting research including a Nielsen survey, Ford found what customers want and need from their cupholders and redesigned the 2017 Ford Fusion.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Bottles Win Big In The 2017 Ford Fusion<\/h2>\n<p>Watch closely in this short video we shot from the 2016 Edmonton Motor Show and see if you can spot how Ford is able to redesign the cupholders in the 2017 Ford Fusion.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"474\" height=\"267\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XTPtuLkfHVI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As you can see, the replacement of the traditional shifter with a rotary gear shift dial has freed up space for two newly designed cupholders, both with available ambient lighting.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-11990\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-ds.com\/blogs-media\/sites\/71\/2016\/05\/27081204\/2017-Ford-Fusion-Sport_4_o.jpg\" alt=\"2017 Ford Fusion Sport side and back view\" width=\"454\" height=\"296\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn-ds.com\/blogs-media\/sites\/71\/2016\/05\/27081204\/2017-Ford-Fusion-Sport_4_o.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cdn-ds.com\/blogs-media\/sites\/71\/2016\/05\/27081204\/2017-Ford-Fusion-Sport_4_o-300x195.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 454px) 100vw, 454px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The new cupholders are one in front of the other, with the front cupholder 6 inches forward from it&#8217;s previous 2016 Fusion model. \u00a0It&#8217;s a small move with big effects! \u00a0By doing so, Ford can also extend the armrest by nearly 3 inches and to expand the armrest centre storage bin by an extra 2 litres! \u00a0Ford instrument panel and console manager, Jolanta Coffey, says &#8220;Being dissatisfied with your cupholders may be a minor annoyance, but it&#8217;s a daily one, which over time detracts from the overall car experience. \u00a0On the other hand, when you like your cupholders, they can make your vehicle feel like home.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Coffey says, &#8220;We set out to develop a beautiful interior, paying attention to the details that make people fall in love and stay in love with their car.&#8221; A great cupholder is roomy enough for an extra-large container, yet capable of holding a skinny one without it tipping over. \u00a0The cupholders are deep enough to hold taller containers, but shallow enough you can easily pluck out a small cup. \u00a0So now you can enjoy those enormous 52-ounce sodas you can get at gas stations so you and your Big Gulp will look incredibly awesome in the new Fusion!<\/p>\n<p><strong>In total, the 2017 Ford Fusion has up to six cupholders in the console, front door pockets and rear center armrest putting satisfaction within reach, literally!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cupholders have a small convenience with a big impact! \u00a0If you&#8217;re like everyone else, you use cupholders for more than just bottles and cups! \u00a0 While these come in \u00a0all sizes, we also love to fill our vehicle cupholders with stuff, like mobile devices and loose change. \u00a0So after conducting research including a Nielsen survey, [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":23,"featured_media":11989,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[35],"tags":[67,124],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v16.1.1 -
