Steps to setting up Trailer Reverse Guidance in your Ford<\/span> <\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you prefer a visual lesson, skip this text guide and check out the video. Both will provide the same instructions. Here are the steps you can take to setting up Trailer Reverse Guidance in your Ford.\u00a0<\/p>

  1. Gather the necessary supplies.<\/strong>

    You\u2019ll want to have your supplied quick-start setup guide, your measurement card which came with the guide, a tape measure, a pen or pencil, an assistant, and the checkered sticker that comes with your guide.\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  2. Connect your vehicle to your trailer.<\/strong>

    Do this on a level surface. A drawbar with the appropriate rise or drop can be used to improve the positioning.\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  3. Line up your vehicle with the trailer.\u00a0<\/strong>

    Do this by driving your vehicle forward. If you drive straight for a bit, the trailer will line itself up.\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  4. Use steering wheel controls to select the towing menu.<\/strong>

    You can see this on your instrument panel.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  5. Select Trailer Setup.<\/strong>

    Use the steering wheel controls to make your selection.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  6. Select Add Trailer.<\/strong>

    Hit OK when this option is highlighted.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  7. Make a name for the trailer.<\/strong>

    This will be how the trailer is identified in the system, so make it something you will recognize. Use the steering wheel controls to spell out a name. The right arrow advances to the next letter. Press OK when you have the correct name.\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  8. Select your trailer\u2019s brake types.<\/strong>

    There are two options that will appear on the screen. Press OK when you highlight the correct one.\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  9. Follow the screen instructions\u00a0to answer the next questions in the same way.<\/strong>

    You will be asked to\u00a0select the trailer\u2019s brake effort\u00a0and\u00a0hitch\u00a0type and\u00a0decide whether you want to use the BLIS (Blind Spot Information System).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  10. Select yes when it asks if you want to add Trailer Reverse Guidance.<\/strong>

    It might prompt you to drive forward more if your trailer isn\u2019t straight. Follow these instructions.\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  11. Place the checkered sticker\u00a0on your hitch.<\/strong>

    You\u2019ll want to use the measurement card\u00a0to place it within\u00a017 cm and 51 cm\u00a0of the center of\u00a0the trailer hitch ball.\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  12. Use the tape measure to record measurements.<\/strong>

    Measure the distance from the license plate to the hitch ball,\u00a0from the hitch ball to the sticker, from the rearview camera to the sticker, from the tailgate to the trailer axle for single-axle trailers, or from the tailgate to the midpoint between both axles for double-axle trailers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  13. Input the measurements into the system.<\/strong>

    The system will let you know which measurement it is asking for. Use the steering wheel controls. Confirm when they are all correct.\u00a0<\/p> <\/li>

  14. Follow the directions for driving the vehicle forward.<\/strong>

    You\u2019ll need to stay at a slow pace of between 6 and 39 km per hour. It will let you know when calibration is complete.\u00a0<\/p> <\/li><\/ol><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
