According to the IIHS, the 2023 Ford Explorer has earned an overall \u2018good\u2019 rating in updated front overlap crash testing. In fact, the Explorer was one of only four midsize SUVs to receive the IIHS top-tier good rating out of the 13 vehicles tested. One of the reasons the Explorer performed so well in crash testing is its advanced safety features. Ford uses seat belts with pre-tensioner and load-limiting technology in both the first and second rows to help achieve these latest test results.
