The Sherwood Park Phoenix soccer team has done us all very proud after bring home Silver during the 2016 AFC Summit Cup Championships. \u00a0The team, sponsored by Sherwood Ford, is made up of under 12 age girls in the Sherwood Park District Soccer Association.<\/p>\n

Sherwood Park Phoenix Bring Home Silver<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Phoenix Program continues to evolve with a renewed focus on the development of young players and coaches. \u00a0Throughout the season since April, players and coaches have committed to training and playing four times a week. \u00a0They’re given an\u00a0opportunity to develop their skills with meaningful competition that enhances game understanding and performance.<\/p>\n

Their success as a team and individually is strongly reflected in the athletes, coaches and parents high level of commitment! \u00a0The Sherwood Park District Soccer Association provides a\u00a0a Long-Term Player Development inspired program. \u00a0It includes a holistic curriculum and plan with purposeful training and growth opportunities for the passionate player and coach.<\/p>\n

\nThe Phoenix had one of their best games Saturday in Airdrie when they killed it against the\u00a0Edmomton Juventus (Devlin) team shutting them out 9-0! \u00a0With their combined points, they were in the final championship Sunday versus the\u00a0Calgary MUSC Phoenix. \u00a0That formidable team managed to hold the Sherwood Park Phoenix to a 2-0 victory. \u00a0The girls can be very proud, as are we, of their amazing success and bringing home a Silver cup!<\/p>\n
