There\u2019s nothing better to our Sherwood Ford team than being able to support the organizations and foundations that share our community \u2013 the Edmonton area can only go so far as its residents are able to take it, and in that regard, we\u2019re truly fortunate to be surrounded by so many amazing people that are willing to go the extra mile every day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Team Inch by Inch \u2013 MS Bike, Leduc to Camrose<\/a><\/h3>\n

In an effort to\u00a0raise funds to combat the dangers of Multiple Sclerosis, Krysta Brown-Inch’s biking team rode from Leduc to Camrose to increase awareness and raise money for MS research and prevention. It was a rousing success, as they were able to raise over $30,000 for the MS Society of Canada<\/a> \u2013 we\u2019re very proud of Krysta and her team and were fortunate to be able to sponsor them!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Melissa Slays MS \u2013 Edmonton MS Walk<\/a><\/h3>\n

MS prevention is a cause that\u2019s very important to us, as Alberta has the highest rate of the disease in all of Canada, affecting over 14,000 of our provincial neighbors, two-thirds of which are women. That\u2019s why we doubled up on our sponsorships in the last couple months \u2013 during the Edmonton MS walk we partnered with Melissa Slays MS to help increase even more awareness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Racing for A Cure with Stollery Children\u2019s Hospital Foundation<\/h3>\n

Last Saturday (June 22) we had the privilege of supporting the Stollery Children\u2019s Hospital Foundation for Racing\u00a0For\u00a0A Cure<\/a>. David from Sherwood Ford, along with Jay Downton (president of\u00a0OilersNation), escorted Hayden (a patient at Stollery) to the Alberta Legislative Grounds for a day that we\u2019re sure he\u2019ll never forget!<\/p>\n

Hayden is one of the strongest young dudes we\u2019ve ever met \u2013 he’s currently battling Type 1\u00a0Diabetes and\u00a0shown great resolve and determination in doing so \u2013 we couldn\u2019t be\u00a0more proud\u00a0of him and are\u00a0honoured\u00a0to have had the chance to hang out!<\/p>\n

\n

The children’s charity fundraiser event, the largest in North America, will help to advance pediatric physical and mental health, and support kids from backyards across Alberta.<\/p>\n

Brain\u00a0Tumour\u00a0Foundation Walk \/ Run<\/h3>\n

To support the Brain\u00a0Tumour\u00a0Foundation<\/a> in its annual Edmonton Walk\/Run, we sponsored the Grant\u2019s Guys team, good friends of our dealership. An estimated 55,000 Canadians live with brain\u00a0tumours, which are unpredictable in their effects but bad news across the board; there is no cure, but the power of hope, support and research may one day lead us to one. Over 750 participants took part in the Walk\/Run, which raised over $116,000!<\/p>\n

22nd\u00a0Annual Audrey Poitras\u00a0Golf Tournament<\/h3>\n

Legends Golf and Country Club is home to an annual golf tournament for the Metis Nation of Alberta that we were able to sponsor this time around \u2013 the first person to get a hole-in-one had the chance to win a brand-new Mustang! Sadly, it was windy that day, so nobody ended up bringing the iconic muscle car home, but it was a fun-filled day for all involved. Always next year!<\/p>\n

Sherwood Park Phoenix U15 Boys and Girls Soccer Teams<\/span><\/p>\n

Over in the sports world, we\u2019re proud to sponsor the Sherwood Park Phoenix\u00a0boys\u00a0and girls\u2019 soccer teams; the girls came in second in their league this season, missing out on the title by only one point \u2013 they did, however, lead the league in goals against average, and will be coming back stronger than ever next year. We\u2019re excited to see what both teams in the Sherwood Park District Soccer Association can do, and wish them all the best!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
