Canada is one of the best and most highly developed nations on Earth, but unfortunately, there are those who still go through life living paycheck to paycheck, or in some cases, even worse off. 1 in 8 Canadian households have food shortages, equating to 4 million residents. But a big part of what makes this country so great is the charitable, family-oriented atmosphere that Canadians have, and that\u2019s why our Sherwood Ford team<\/a> is so proud to be able to work throughout October with organizations that mean the most to us.<\/p>\n

All month long, we\u2019ll be collecting food donations for food banks around Edmonton to benefit the WE Scare Hunge<\/a>r program, intended to give those who are less fortunate the ability to get back on their feet. Check out how you can help us below!<\/p>\n

What kind of food should I donate at Sherwood Ford?<\/h3>\n

Ford has partnered with WE to put on this fundraiser, a charitable organization that works to aid and assist in making people\u2019s lives that much easier, in this case, through food. Our team has partnered with Lakeland Ridge Community School and OilersNation to put on this event, and from October 1-31, we\u2019ll have a drop off location at Sherwood Ford where you\u2019ll be able to bring your donations. Any and all tinned and nonperishable foods are certainly encouraged \u2013 our goal this month is to push donations past 400,000 pounds, and with your support, we know we can.<\/p>\n

Of course, we\u2019ll also be accepting monetary donations if you\u2019re so inclined. During the first week of November, we will donate everything we\u2019ve collected to the Edmonton Food Bank; we can\u2019t wait to see how much we\u2019re able to give!<\/p>\n

Ford\u2019s partnership with WE Scare Hunger<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s at this point that we should let you know how proud we are of our follow Ford dealerships throughout Canada. Since we started partnering with WE in 2014, we\u2019ve been able to donate 1,356,470 pounds of food to local food banks. Put simply, that\u2019s the equivalent of providing 950 Canadian families with three meals a day for an entire year!<\/p>\n
