What is the Engine-Exhaust Brake?

The Engine-Exhaust Brake has become an integral part of the Super Duty’s turbocharger. When activated, the engine brake will automatically adjust the vanes on the exhaust side of the turbocharger. This generates engine pressure.

While the Engine-Exhaust Brake is engaged, extra braking power will require less manual brake application. This is especially helpful when traveling on downhill grades. This provides extra control over the truck and trailer while driving downhill. The system maintains control over the truck and trailer at a steady pace. This reduces the amount of time spent using the truck’s brakes, which in turn helps reduce the need for maintenance.
