Yes, you can take a road trip in an electric vehicle, and it just may be more convenient than a gas vehicle when you use FordPass Power My Trip, a feature that lets you plan charging stops along the route. By watching this video, you’ll learn how to use FordPass to plan your road trip. If you don’t already have FordPass on your smartphone, getting it is the first step. Then, watch the video and follow along. 

Steps to planning your route with FordPass 

If you missed anything in the video above, you can review the steps here. Planning your trip has never been easier. Follow these steps to plan your route. 

  1. Open the FordPass app on your smartphone. 
  2. Touch Map, then Trip Planner, then Create New Trip Plan
  3. Enter your origin and your destination. 
  4. The app will automatically show you route options with charging stops and estimated trip times. Use the filters at the top to filter by fastest, eco, or shortest routes. 
  5. Tap on each station to view estimated charging prices and charging plug availability. This also shows whether the station is in the BlueOval ™ Charge Network and whether the station includes a DC fast charger. 
  6. When you’ve selected the trip you want, press Save Trip Plan. This saves the route to your app. It also saves it to the infotainment system in your Ford. 
  7. Once you have it saved, you can access it at any time to repeat the same route.
