Ford Earns Top 3 Ranking in JD Power Dependability Study

The strength of the Ford model line has long rested in its pickups, performance vehicles, and overall tech savviness across all cars, trucks, and SUVs that the brand produces. This is especially evident now, as on the strength of the F-150, Mustang, and SYNC® 3 infotainment suite, Ford has taken home some serious hardware yet again. It’s earned a Top 3 ranking in JD Power’s Vehicle Dependability Study, and we invite you to join Sherwood Ford as we show you what led to such accolades!

Ford’s performance at 2020 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study

J.D. Power is a well respected name in many industries, most notable among them being the automotive market. Its Vehicle Dependability Study measures problems experienced by car owners within the last 12 months by original owners of 3-year old vehicles, and basically, the models with the least amount of issues are deemed the most dependable.

This makes it all the more incredible that Ford was able to take home two first-place finishes in this category – both the 2017 model year of the F-150 and Mustang were tops in their class in this aspect! Combined, this helped to propel Ford into a third-place tie among all manufacturers in the overall rankings, and it also placed fifth among non-luxury brands. It goes without saying that this is quite an impressive performance!

It should also be mentioned that a major factor behind Ford’s success was (and still is) its SYNC® 3 voice activated infotainment, available on all MY 2017 Ford models. Complete with a stellar interface, reliable operating system, and Wi-Fi updates, SYNC® is a clear frontrunner as one of the best tech features in the business.
