Is the 2022 Ford Maverick a hybrid truck?

2022 Ford Maverick truck hybrid technology

Is the 2022 Ford Maverick a hybrid truck? Indeed, it is, and it is the first truck in Canada to come standard with a full-hybrid powertrain. Keep reading below to learn about the 2022 Ford Maverick model’s hybrid technology and efficiency. You can find Ford trucks here at Sherwood Ford in Sherwood Park, AB.

2022 Ford Maverick – fuel economy rating

The 2022 Ford Maverick has a targeted fuel consumption rating of 5.9 L per 100 km driven in the city. * This makes it the most fuel-efficient truck on the market. In fact, this model is set to beat out popular sedan models like the Honda Civic in terms of fuel economy. ** That’s probably not surprising, as this is the first standard full-hybrid pickup truck in North America.

If you need more efficiency, there is also an Eco driving mode available in the 2022 Ford Maverick. What does Eco mode do? It makes adjustments to non-vital features in the vehicle in order to conserve fuel.

2022 Ford Maverick – driving range

Hybrid technology allows vehicles to expand on their natural driving range. That’s because the driving range that they would have had with a full gas-powered powertrain is now being supplemented with regenerative braking and energy from the hybrid parts of the powertrain. In this case, this allows the truck to travel up to 800 km on a single tank of gas. ***

2022 Ford Maverick – payload

How powerful is the 2022 Ford Maverick? Don’t worry, hybrid technology is every bit as powerful as the standard gas models that we are used to. The 2022 Ford Maverick has a payload of up to 1,500 pounds, which means you can transport roughly 37 bags of 40-pound mulch in one trip. That’s plenty of power for a big job.
