If you’re as big a fan of pony cars as we are here at Sherwood Ford, we think you’ll be happy to open up the stable for one of the best horses we’ve ever seen (pardon the puns – we couldn’t help ourselves) – the Ford Mustang Mach-E! Put simply, Ford has been working hard to cook up a model that combines the searing adrenaline and performance of a sports car with the versatility of a crossover. Oh yeah, and it’s fully electric!

In our eyes, the powertrain for the 2021 Mustang Mach-E is nothing short of exceptional. It’ll offer both a Standard Range (SR) and Extended Range (ER) battery, the latter of which will promise a maximum driving range of up to 500 kilometers! (300 miles) That’s not all; you’ll also get all-wheel drive functionality on four of the Mach-E’s five trims, making it that much better at handling Alberta winters.
Speaking of the Mustang Mach-E’s five trims, they (Select, Premium, First Edition, California Route 1 and GT) are all class leaders in terms of performance, as is to be expected with any model that bears the “Mustang” name. Horsepower ratings range between 255 and 459 horsepower, and you can expect maximum torque outputs from 306 and 612 (yes, really) pound-feet, depending on the trim and drivetrain you’re looking for.
Thanks to its SUV proportions and build quality, the 2021 Mustang Mach-E brings stellar versatility to the table to accent its ample power. Five passengers can fit comfortably inside on Active X® seating, or drop all seats down for 59.6 cubic feet of cargo space, a great number for its designation. If you need even more space, however, the Mach-E’s battery-powered drivetrain gives it even more room to work with – flip up the front hood for a pleasant, water-resistant storage area, perfect for luggage!
Elsewhere in the 2021 Mustang Mach-E’s interior, you’ll see some of the best technologies in the business. For starters, a huge centre touchscreen will house connection to the all-new SYNC® 4 infotainment interface, and you’re free to play all your media through a premium B&O Sound System, available on higher trims and ultra-clear.
The Mustang Mach-E is, understandably, being touted as one of the strongest crossovers of all time, regardless of engine – because it is. And the best cherry on top we can think of is the kind of exterior beauty that only a Ford can provide.
