2018 Taurus Standard Engine

Coming standard on most 2018 Taurus trim levels is a 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 engine. This engine features twin independent variable camshaft timing controls that function to optimize the overall performance of the Taurus. With a Government of Canada-estimated rating of 8.7L/100 km on the highway, this engine will surely provide you with the fuel efficiency you’ve been dreaming about. In addition to being very efficient, this engine cranks out up to 288 horsepower!

2018 Taurus Available Engine

Available on most 2018 Taurus trim levels, and standard on the Taurus SHO is a 3.5L EcoBoost® engine. This innovative engine combines two different technologies to power your drive. Turbocharging and direct-injection technology come together to ensure that every single drop of fuel consumed by the engine is turned into performance-boosting power. Speaking of power, this beast of an engine allows the 2018 Taurus to provide a robust 365 horsepower and an eye-popping 350 lb-ft of torque.

2018 Taurus Torque Vectoring Control

Standard on all Taurus models, the Torque Vectoring Control and Curve Control system utilize the vehicle’s braking system to emulate the effects of a torque-vectoring differential. That means as you accelerate through corners, the brakes will be applied to the front inside wheel so more engine torque goes to the outside wheel giving it more grip.
