What drive modes does the 2024 Ford Mustang offer?

2024 Ford Mustang – handling and terrain management

What drive modes are offered by the 2024 Ford Mustang? Below, you can learn about this model’s six available drive modes, perfect for different driving conditions. You can find a Ford model with drive modes here at Sherwood Ford in Sherwood Park, AB.

2024 Ford Mustang – drive mode list

The 2024 Ford Mustang offers six available drive modes. Each mode can be selected to help the driver navigate under certain conditions, as defined in the list below. Paired with each mode is a unique high-fidelity graphic that will display on the digital instrument panel when the mode is in use.

  • Normal mode is the mode you’ll drive in most of the time. It offers good handling for the average road.
  • Sport mode is for when you want a little more pep in your step. Certain internal systems will go up a notch, giving you the driving feel of a sports car.
  • Slippery mode helps you gain traction in low-traction situations. This improves handling on wet or icy roads.
  • Drag mode is another performance mode for driving enthusiasts. This mode puts a higher priority on keeping optimal power outputs as you change gears.
  • Track mode won’t be for everyone, but if you drive your Mustang on a track, you’ll want to engage this mode.
  • A customizable mode allows you to create a mode for six individual profiles.

“Whether driving an automatic or manual transmission, thanks to drive modes combined with fine-tuned digital engine, suspension and steering controls, we’re now able to give drivers peak performance everywhere, from their favorite roads to their local track.”

-Ed Krenz, Ford Mustang chief nameplate engineer

How do drive modes work in the 2024 Ford Mustang?

What you need to know about drive modes is that you can select them by simply turning a dial. They’ll automatically engage once selected, so your input doesn’t need to change at all, just drive how you normally would. They work by adjusting different performance features. For example, the transmission automatically reconfigures its shift patterns to match the drive mode in use.
