Pickup trucks offer a number of options, including trim levels, cab sizes, bed lengths, drivetrains, and more. Truck shoppers must also decide which engine option is best for them. In an effort to assist pickup shoppers during the decision-making process, we have put together an engine comparison for the 2016 Ford F-150.

The table above should give you a better idea of what to expect from each F-150 engine. All but the 3.5-litre Ti-VCT V6 engine are available with the F-150 Payload Package, which allows for a greater payload capacity.
Now that you have a better idea of what to expect from each 2016 F-150 engine option, you can begin to decide which one is right for you. First, you should consider what you will be using your truck for. Will you tow a trailer, boat, or camper? Will you also haul large equipment? Then, you should determine how much your trailer and/or equipment will weigh to find out which engine option is capable of towing and/or hauling it. Before you make a final decision, you also might consider which engine options are available with each trim level. For instance, the F-150 XL and XLT offer all engines, while the Limited only comes with the 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6.
