The 2018 Ford Fusion has a lot to live up to. Thankfully, with its available engine options, the 2018 Fusion is every bit as capable and thrilling to drive as ever.
When you think of Ford you probably think back to when you were young, sitting in your family’s Ford vehicle driving out to the cabin or off to your relative’s house. You probably don’t remember the legendary performance that old Ford provided, but we can assure you, it was there. Ever since they started, Ford vehicles have been known for providing drivers with an incredible performance that has yet to be matched. That makes for some pretty big shoes to fill, but luckily the 2018 Ford Fusion is more than up for the job.
The first engine choice for the 2018 Fusion is the 1.5L EcoBoost. This powerful little engine comes standard with Auto Start-Stop Technology. For those who don’t know, Auto Start-Stop Technology is one of the many ways that Ford is making it easier for you to save on fuel prices. When you come to a complete stop, your engine will automatically shut itself off. When your foot leaves the brake pedal and goes to the accelerator, the engine will then automatically turn back on and come to life instantly.
Like the 1.5L EcoBoost, this beast is out to help you save money on fuel prices. By making use out of direct-injection and twin independent variable cam timing technology, the 2.0L EcoBoost engine is capable of providing you with up to and estimated 7.6 L/100km on the highway when properly equipped.
Coming standard on the 2018 Fusion Sport is the 2.7L EcoBoost V6. This monster living under the hood of the Fusion cranks out up to 325 horsepower and delivers an eye-popping 380 lb-ft of torque! This engine also makes use of Ford’s continuously controlled damping system to constantly monitor the steering, braking, suspension, and body movement to automatically adjust in the blink of an eye.
