The DealerRater Dealer of the Year Award was first initiated in 2009. Sherwood Ford is proud to claim the DealerRater Dealer of the Year in 2017, along with the Customer Satisfaction Award. Only a select number of car dealerships throughout Canada and the United States are honored for outstanding customer satisfaction as expressed through online reviews left on the DealerRater website.

How does DealerRater work?

The average car buyer might not be familiar with DealerRater. DealerRater is a review website where customers write reviews about car dealerships, salespeople, service shops, and more.

Online reviews are becoming a go-to source for new car buyers attempting to learn more about a dealership before they visit. Online product reviews are changing the way consumers purchase products of all kinds, not just automobiles. The reviews on DealerRater are from real customers! Anyone who visits Sherwood Ford is able to leave a review, so we’d encourage you to tell us how we did if you come and visit!

The number of brand categories represented in the Award Program has grown every year since the program was initiated. There is an award category for every brand that has at least one qualifying dealership.

How is the DealerRater Dealer of the Year award chosen?

To rank dealerships and determine the Dealers of the Year, a PowerScore™ is calculated for each dealership on DealerRater.com. The dealership with the highest PowerScore for each award category (by brand for each State/Province, as well as nationally) will receive a Dealer of the Year award.

Award Criteria

In order to qualify for a Consumer Satisfaction Award, a dealership must meet the following criteria:

• Minimum of 25 reviews on DealerRater for the previous calendar year.
• Minimum of 1 positive review in each calendar quarter of the previous calendar year.
• Average rating greater than 4.0 (out of a maximum of 5.0) for reviews received during the previous calendar year.
• Must not have been blacklisted during the previous calendar year.
