Ford has taken the already formidable Mustang Dark Horse and pushed it to an entirely new level. The 2026 Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC is the most powerful and track-capable Dark Horse ever built, combining race-proven engineering with cutting-edge performance technology developed by Ford Racing. Designed to bridge the gap between the standard Dark Horse and the ultra-exclusive Mustang GTD, the Dark Horse SC delivers supercharged V8 power and serious circuit-ready capability. Keep reading with Sherwood Ford of Sherwood Park, AB, to learn more about the Dark Horse model.
At the heart of the Mustang Dark Horse SC is a supercharged 5.2-liter V8, paired with a TREMEC® 7-speed dual-clutch transmission for lightning-fast shifts and consistent power delivery. Engineers reworked nearly every performance system to elevate the Dark Horse beyond its already impressive foundation.
Advanced chassis tuning, next-generation MagneRide dampers, and updated steering hardware give the Dark Horse SC a flatter, more responsive feel, especially under hard cornering. Variable Traction Control, adapted from the Mustang GTD, allows drivers to fine-tune grip with multiple levels of assistance, or turn it off entirely for full control.
With inspiration from the Mustang GT3 race cars and the Mustang GTD supercar program, the Dark Horse SC feels just as confident on the track as it does on the street.
