Ford’s EcoBoost engine is the new automotive must-have. Its powerful yet efficient and even award-winning. The 1.0L EcoBoost engine, first released in 2012, has recently been awarded as the International Engine of the Year for the sixth consecutive year. Ford Cars with the 1.0L Turbocharged EcoBoost Engine

Compact sedans are quickly becoming one of the most popular vehicle segments for their combination of style, agility and efficiency. Shooting straight to the top of the list, Ford has placed its 1.0L turbocharged EcoBoost engine in both the 2017 Fiesta SE and the 2017 Focus SE.

When placed in these models, the award-winning powertrain puts out 123 horsepower at 6,000 RPM. However, while both models list 125 lb.-ft. Of torque, the Fiesta delivers its 125 lb.-ft. At 2,500 RPM while the Focus delivers it at 3,500 RPM.

Another difference between the performance of the EcoBoost engine with these two models is their choice of transmission. The Fiesta SE comes fit with a 5-speed manual transmission while the Focus SE adds a gear to feature a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic option.
