How to use Ford Remote Start to Activate Heated Seats

Let’s not sugarcoat anything here – anytime in the winter can often be a hassle, because not only is it cold outside, it’s bound to be freezing inside your car as well. That’s why Ford has introduced settings to its Remote Start feature that allow you to turn on your heated seats before you even step inside for the drive. So today, join Sherwood Ford as we show you how to use Ford Remote Start to activate heated seats!

How to Adjust Heated Seats settings from the Ford Display Settings Menu

The majority of new Ford vehicles will have a directional pad on their steering wheels located either on the left or right-hand side. You can use this pad to activate your heated seats from your Remote Start system; here’s how:

  1. Using your Directional Pad, scroll down in your instrument cluster’s interface until you reach “Settings.” Then press the “OK” button.
  2. Repeat this process from “Vehicle” to “Remote Start” to “Climate Control.” Each time you see these options, press “OK” to continue.
  3. In the “Climate Control” menu, you’ll see options to activate the heated seats for both your Driver’s Seat and Passenger’s seat. Click on each, then toggle on the “Auto” setting.
  4. Finally, find the “Duration” option in your interface’s menu. You’ll see an option for either 5, 10, or 15 minutes from the time that you start your vehicle with your Remote Start key. Select the best choice for you.

You’re done! With this activated, you’ll be greeted by some much-needed warmth when you take your place behind the wheel of your Ford vehicle.

Ford Remote Start Features and Capabilities

While you can start your Ford remotely with your key, for even greater convenience, you can use the FordPass app. This technology allows you to start, unlock, and turn off your Ford vehicle directly from your device. It can also help you adjust the ambient temperature inside, as well as activate your heated seats, making this a highly convenient piece of technology, especially in the often-brutal Edmonton winter.
