In addition to bringing back the fan-favorite Bronco, the popular Ford Ranger will be coming out sometime in 2019! The Ford Ranger and Bronco will be manufactured in the U.S., at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan.
Customers have been clamoring for the return of the Ranger pickup truck since it left the Ford lineup. With the continued success of the redesigned Chevy Colorado and Toyota Tacoma, there’s room for the Ranger to make quite an impact! Joe Hinrichs, Ford’s president of The America’s had this to say:
“We’ve heard our customers loud and clear. They want a new generation of vehicles that are incredibly capable yet fun to drive…Ranger is for truck buyers who want an affordable, functional, rugged and maneuverable pickup that’s Built Ford Tough.
Canadian trucks buyers might not be aware that the Ford Ranger didn’t actually vanish from the Earth after its production halted in North America. There’s a 2016 version of the Ranger that was sold all over the world, just not here in Canada. The 2019 Ford Ranger will get its own unique style, engine options, and interior features.
Sure, we can expect the Ford Ranger to retain a few of the familiar elements that the rest of the Ford lineup features. The 2019 Ranger is expected to be “all-new,” meaning that it might not look anything like we expect it to. If the Ranger were to come out today, we’d expect it to look something like the truck picture behind Joe Hinrichs at this press in January 2017.
