But when it comes to trucks, one of the most important things is the truck’s capability. That begs the question: How much can the 2022 Maverick tow? And what’s the payload? Let us show you.
Towing capacity depends on the drivetrain and equipped packages. The base towing capacity is 2,000 lbs (907.2 kg) for the 2.5L Hybrid and 2.0L EcoBoost powertrains. However, the 2.0L EcoBoost has the 4K Towing package, which increases maximum towing capacity to 4,000 lbs (1814.4 kg). No matter which powertrain you have equipped, the maximum payload is 1,500 lbs (680.4 kg). Speaking of powertrains, let’s take a look at each of them.
The 2022 Maverick is offered with two different engines. The first is the 2.5L Hybrid engine with FWD and a CVT. If you’re looking for a small pickup with excellent fuel economy, then this is the model for you. The second option is a turbocharged 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It comes standard with FWD, but AWD is available.
