How to set up and connect to Wi-Fi on the Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system

How to connect SYNC to FordPass Connect Wi-Fi 

When you first connect your phone, tablet, or other device to the SYNC Connect Wi-Fi system, you’ll have a three-month free trial with which to use it. Which 2019 Ford models have built-in Wi-Fi?  

Under its SYNC Connect branding, the Ford line introduced built-in Wi-Fi for the 2018 model year to select models. This time around, in 2019, the following Ford models come with hotspots equipped inside:  

  • Ford C-MAX 
  • Ford EcoSport 
  • Ford Edge 
  • Ford Escape 
  • Ford Expedition 
  • Ford Explorer 
  • Ford F-150 
  • Ford Fusion 
  • Ford Mustang 
  • Ford Ranger 
  • Ford Transit Connect 

This Wi-Fi functionality allows for connection for up to 10 devices, without sacrificing any bandwidth along the way. Your model’s hotspot also has a working range of up to 50 feet, meaning that you virtually have a mobile router to work with anywhere!
