Safety Features on the 2017 Ford Explorer

The Ford Explorer has long been a vehicle that has been trusted to keep you and your family safe while getting you to and from work, school, the store, the lake, and everywhere else you go. Thanks to the safety features on the 2017 model, your family will be safer than ever before.

At Sherwood Ford, your safety has always been our top priority. We know that you need a vehicle that makes you feel comfortable and safe no matter how long your drive is. The engineers at Ford want to make sure you and your family stay safe as well. That’s why they’ve created a Ford Explorer with safety technologies that make it one of the safest vehicles on the roads. That means that you and your entire family will be able to drive in peace knowing that your Explorer will always be looking out for you.

Our Explorer Inventory

Intelligent 4-Wheel Drive

The Intelligent 4-Wheel Drive system available on the 2017 Explorer is able to monitor the road in order to optimize the powertrain and braking system to match the driving conditions. Winter is coming and that means the threat of black ice on the roads. With the Intelligent 4-Wheel Drive system, your Explorer will be able to detect any ice on the road and will make the appropriate adjustments to keep you as safe as possible.

Blind Spot Information

Also available on the 2017 Explorer is a Blind Spot Information System. By using radar located on the rear quarter panels, this system is able to identify when a vehicle is entering your blind spot. When it does detect a vehicle moving in, it will send you alerts with an indicator light on the side-view mirror. This system is paired with Cross-Traffic Alert which watches the area behind your Explorer while you’re backing up. If a vehicle is detected approaching from up to 13.7 metres away, it will send you an audible warning to let you know of the incoming traffic.

These are just two of the many more safety features on the 2017 Explorer. If you want to see all of the standard and available safety technology that has gone into the Explorer, come on over to our dealership near Edmonton to check out an Explorer for yourself! We have a wide array of Explorer trim levels that are sure to fit your family’s needs without going over your budget.
