How often to get maintenance done on your Ford vehicle 

Your service schedule for your Ford vehicle is a rough schedule for when you should be scheduling various regular maintenance appointments. These include oil changes, filter replacements, tire inspections, and more. Ford service schedules can vary by model, but in general, this is what you need to know. 

  • Check your engine oil level every month. The normal rate for an oil change will be every 12,000 to 16,000 km driven, but it can be as few as 4,000 km. Things that may make it come sooner include high towing loads, extended idling, extreme temperatures, and other road conditions. 
  • Check your lights every month. You don’t want to be caught in a situation where your lights are out, and you are stranded. Try to turn them all on once a month. 
  • Check for tire wear and tear every month. You can often find public stations at gas stations to fill up tires. Keep them properly inflated at all times. 
  • Check your windshield wiper fluid every month. This is another quick check that can save you a headache in the future. 
  • Every six months, check the vehicle’s battery, door drain holes, cooling system fluid level, door weatherstrips, and hinges and latches. Do maintenance as needed on these items. 
  • If you notice something weird like a strange noise or smell, get a free diagnostic check at our dealership. This is a free check, so it doesn’t hurt to get it done on a regular basis. *
