Adopt-A-Pet Day is taking place this month at Sherwood Ford

Meet adoptable cats and dogs at your local Ford dealership this April

The Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS) and Sherwood Ford are organizing Adopt-A-Pet Day on Saturday, April 29th. This event will allow people to meet and potentially adopt one of many dogs and cats available for adoption at our dealership. SCARS is currently facing difficulties rehoming animals, so this event is crucial in helping find loving homes for these animals. We can’t wait to see all of you here at the end of this month. Keep reading below to learn about how you can help pets in need.

When is the 5th annual Adopt-A-Pet Day happening?

On Saturday, April 29th, Adopt-A-Pet Day will take place at Sherwood Ford. From 11 AM to 2 PM, we invite everyone to meet the adoptable cats and dogs looking for forever homes. We hope to see you during this four-hour event.

Is Adopt-A-Pet Day only for potential adopters?

Everyone is invited to Adopt-A-Pet Day. Other than meeting the animals, this is also an opportunity to learn about fostering and volunteering with SCARS. Individuals can also help out by bringing donations for the organization, including puppy and kitten food.

Three activities to enjoy during Adopt-A-Pet Day

  • Meeting fur-ever friends for the first time: Individuals can meet dogs and cats available for adoption. This event allows potential pet owners to interact with animals and potentially take one home.
  • Donating items for rescued animals: In addition to hosting adoption events, SCARS also accepts donations of various items to help support the animals in their care. These items may include pet food, toys, blankets, and other supplies.
  • Test driving, “Drive One for Furry Friends” with $10 per test drive donated to SCARS: This is a program where we donate $10 to SCARS for every test drive taken. This initiative helps raise funds for the organization and allows drivers to support a good cause while test-driving a vehicle.

What does SCARS do, and where do they rescue animals from?

SCARS is a prominent animal rescue organization that operates in Edmonton and Athabasca. Over the years, SCARS has successfully re-homed more than 10,000 animals. They rescue animals from different sources, such as vet clinics, pounds, strays, and abandoned animals. In addition to rescue efforts, SCARS also takes care of animals by providing necessary vaccinations, microchips, spaying, and neutering services.
