Sherwood Ford donating face shields

Sherwood Ford donates 300 face shields to Sherwood Park and Edmonton, AB area workers in May 2020

What is Ford Motor Company of Canada doing to help communities in the spring of 2020?

Ford Motor Company of Canada changed its Windsor, Ontario engine plant into a face shield production plant last month. The company started to produce 2.75 million face shields to provide protection for front line workers including first responders and other medical professionals. As these face shields start to be distributed, Sherwood Ford got the chance to donate 300 of them to businesses in Sherwood Park and Edmonton, AB.

What businesses received face shields from Sherwood Ford?

Everyone can do their part to wear face masks in public, but certain workers are at higher risk from particle droplets in the air. Sherwood Ford donated their 300 face shields to workers at high risk. These include medical practitioners and related workers from the following businesses in Sherwood Park, AB, and the surrounding area:

Sherwood Ford employees are happy to help the community in a time of need

Sherwood Ford employees were given the opportunity to donate and distribute 300 face shields to their community. “We thought that senior care facilities and other community support services could definitely use some [personal protective equipment] in this difficult time,” said Kurtis Hicks, General Manager at Sherwood Ford. He went on to add that “to be able to give back to our community in a meaningful way that makes a difference is definitely something we’re so very happy to be able to do together with Ford of Canada during these unprecedented times.”

What can you do to help Edmonton, AB area businesses this summer?

Staying safe and protected is one of the best ways to passively help healthcare businesses at this time. Donating to a local food bank such as Strathcona Food Bank is a great way to help the community when people are struggling financially. Finally, remember to show your gratitude for frontline workers who go to work each day to keep the community safe.
