The holidays are a time for giving, and Sherwood Ford is proud to partner annually since 2016 with the Strathcona Christmas Bureau to spread holiday cheer and bring joy to families in need! From now until December 12th, we’ll be collecting public donations at the Sherwood Ford showroom to Stuff-A-Giant-Truck.
The Gift of Giving
The holidays can be a difficult time for families facing financial hardship. The Strathcona Christmas Bureau aims to ease that burden by providing Christmas hampers for approximately 600+ families filled with gifts. You can be a part of this worthy cause by donating new, unwrapped toys, gifts, or even making a monetary contribution.
Light Up a Child’s Face with These Donation Ideas
The Strathcona Christmas Bureau is looking for a variety of unwrapped gifts to fill their hampers. Gifts are kept in the community for those in need. Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Unleash their creativity: Consider books (coloring books, children’s picture books, adult books) or art supplies.
- Family Fun: Board games are a great way to bring people together and create lasting memories.
- Tech Savvy: Small electronics like portable speakers are popular gifts for all ages.
- Get Active: Donate sporting equipment like skateboards, helmets, basketballs, or jump ropes to encourage healthy play.
- Cuddle Buddies: Dolls, stuffed animals, and plush toys offer comfort and companionship.
- Vroom Vroom: Toy trucks, cars, and other RC vehicles are always a hit.

The Power of Monetary Donations
While physical gifts are wonderful, a monetary donation offers the Strathcona Christmas Bureau the flexibility to purchase specific items they may be short on. The goal for 2025 is to raise $150,000! Sherwood Ford will match your cash donation at the dealership dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000! So every contribution you give makes a giant difference and stays in our Strathcona County community!
