Here at Sherwood Ford, September is definitely one of our favourite months. The air is getting colder and the general vibe of the Edmonton area is one of fun, excitement and camaraderie for all residents. One of the best ways to kick off the autumn season is Oktoberfest, a celebration of German heritage that returns to us in a few short weeks. German Canadian Cultural Association Oktoberfest 

The Edmonton chapter of the GCAA will be hosting a grandiose Oktoberfest party for two weekends in September, starting on Thursday, September 20 and continuing until Saturday, September 29. Your ticket is good for admission to both a beer tent and a beer hall, the latter of which features authentic German music and great times for all who attend! 

Edmonton Events 

On September 29, the tastes, sights, and sounds of Bavaria will be returning to the Edmonton EXPO Centre, as part of Edmonton Oktoberfest. Beers from Germany and right here at the finest Edmonton craft breweries will be on tap, as well as music, dancing, and games. This all adds up to an event you can’t afford to miss! 


If you’re looking for a more family-friendly approach to the Oktoberfest festivities, head over to the Aviation Hangar in Edmonton on October 5-6. Presented by Just A Little Night Market, you’ll find a beer garden, a marketplace with vintage German goods, great authentic food and live entertainment that both the parents and kids can enjoy!
