What’s going on for Christmas in Edmonton?

Christmas and Holiday Season Events in the Edmonton Area for 2019

Edmonton might be one of the coldest places in Canada, but that doesn’t change the feeling of warmth, positivity and love that the Christmas season brings. It’s one of our most favourite seasons year after year, thanks in large part to the volume of fun happenings that take place in the area. Come with Sherwood Ford all December long at some of the coolest Christmas and Holiday Season Events in the Edmonton Area for 2019!

Zoominescence – Festival of Lights

Head over to Edmonton Valley Zoo all December long for one of the coolest light shows you’ll ever see – the entire zoo is dressed up with all sorts of decorations, and you’ll also find a skating rink, bonfires, ice slides and so much more. We can’t recommend it enough!

50th and Final Edmonton Singing Christmas Tree

For the last half century, Edmonton’s Singing Christmas Tree has been a staple of the community, and though it’s in its last year of production during 2019, you can still ring in the Christmas season with fun for all. With a 38-piece orchestra, 150-voice choir, drumline, and many more, the Edmonton Singing Christmas Tree is, as always, one of the most energetic performances you can find.

A Perfectly Frank Christmas

Frank Sinatra is a legend of the Christmas genre, and his music returns this season on December 22, where you can check out the Don Berner Big Band play all his top hits at Ottewell United Church. It’s sure to put us all in the holiday spirit!

A Very Merry Pops

Head on over to Winspear Centre on December 20 and 21 for a full orchestra rendition of all your favourite Christmas Classics, featuring such notables as Sleigh Ride, Deck the Halls, and even selections from The Nutcracker!
