How can you celebrate the holidays in 2020 near Edmonton, AB? We know that times have changed, but there are still December 2020 events and activities in the area that can help you get in the holiday spirit. Below, we have four great holiday events that can be done while social distancing.  


Winter Wonder Forest 

From November 27, 2020, through January 3, 2021, you can enjoy the Winter Wonder Forest, which is a 100% contact-free event. Presented by the True Start Foundation and Snow Valley, this event is a drive-thru holiday light experience. You can purchase a pass for your car for $30, and all profits will be donated to the foundation, which means that you can celebrate the holiday while doing something good for the community.  

The Polar Express: The Imax Experience 

Every year the Science Centre in Edmonton puts on an Imax experience of The Polar Express movie. This year, there are some changes to the process, with mandatory masks and other safety precautions in place. Movie screenings will start on November 28, 2020, and continue through December 20, 2020, giving you plenty of time to view this holiday movie. 

Edmonton Christmas Market 

Like every event this year, the Edmonton Christmas Market has seen a few changes, but you can still enjoy a large group of Christmas vendors. Space between vendors will be increased, as will cleaning of high-touch areas. The University Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Trees 2020 

This annual event will take place as a virtual event this year, allowing you to participate from the comfort of your own home. There are multiple events that you can choose from for the Festival of Trees, including an online auction and storytime with Mrs. Clause for the little ones.
