Sherwood Ford Announces Sponsorship of Judo Canada

At Sherwood Ford, we’ve always been passionate about promoting local sports and supporting the athletes in our country. That’s why we’ve decided to become a sponsor of Judo Canada.

Judo Canada is the premier place for athletes of all ages to practice, perfect, and compete in Judo tournaments. Mark Hicks, our president here at Sherwood Ford, has a deep passion for the sport, and knows the commitment that it takes both physically and financially in order to compete. That’s why he has decided to work with the folks over at Judo Canada to form this sponsorship helping athletes of all ages and skill levels compete in the sport they love.

Giant Canadian Circuit Rankings

Together with Judo Canada we’ve created “The Giant” Canadian Circuit for 2018. Creating and sponsoring this program is allowing us to both increase the participation of our great athletes, and promote the Canadian Circuit events. Because Judo is becoming more and more popular around the world and here in Canada, we feel that by partnering with Judo Canada we’re helping to provide an amazing atmosphere for athletes wishing to compete.

Within the Giant Canadian Circuit, there are six different levels and tournaments to participate in. Athletes will have the chance to earn points in each event depending on how many wins he/she earns in each event. In order to qualify for full points, a minimum of two wins is required in each event. In addition, there will be 75 bonus points awarded to an athlete that has competed in all six events included in the Circuit, and if he/she has earned at least eight medals during the season. At the end of the season, the top male and female athlete will receive a $2,500 bursary in recognition of their performances.
