Sherwood Ford Community Event Recap for August and September 2018

One of the biggest points of pride that we hold here at Sherwood Ford is being active and engaged in the Edmonton community – we aim to help everyone in the area feel comfortable and part of the Sherwood Ford family, which is why we’re happy to hold so many fundraising events and sponsor numerous others in the area. Today, we want to tell you about a couple of the fundraisers that we helped out with around the community during the last couple of months.

Sherwood Ford Test Drive Fundraiser for Alberta Cancer Foundation and Cross Cancer Institute

Throughout August, we held a Test Drive event in an effort to aid the efforts of the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Cross Cancer Institute; under the parameters of this promotion, we would donate 10 dollars to the foundation for anyone who came by to test drive a model at our dealership. In our eyes, this was a rousing success on many levels – in fact, we raised $4,330 for cancer research and prevention!

Sherwood Ford’s Eighth Annual Ford Show and Track Day Recap

August 26th was a big day for us; for the eighth consecutive year, we hosted a car show and track day at Castrol Raceway, where participants could enter for track award trophies revolving around both stock and modified Mustang and Shelby models. We saw $1,260 raised from this event, also for cancer research – as seen from our owner Mark Hicks above, we were able to raise $5,590 in efforts to benefit the Cross Cancer Institute!

Terry Fox Run of Sherwood Park Fundraiser Recap

Finally, on September 16th, we helped sponsor with the Sherwood Park community’s Terry Fox Run, where participants could run, walk or jog for either two or five kilometres. It was cold, windy and not the greatest of days for running, but that didn’t stop over 200 residents from signing up! Along with our $1000 sponsorship of the event, combined the run raised $15,500 in proceeds that were donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.
