Each year, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) evaluates all vehicles based on their safety elements and features. The evaluation includes five different crashworthiness tests, which examine how each model reacts to a variety of impacts, as well as testing the vehicle’s available crash avoidance and mitigation features.
