The 2020 Ford Explorer is all-new Inside and Out!

New features and specs of the 2020 Ford Explorer

The varied terrain and climate of North America has given rise to the SUV becoming its primary vehicle type, a fitting choice for everyone from professionals to adventure seekers. Throughout history, the best-selling SUV in Canada has been the Ford Explorer, and with its recent re-introduction to the market for the upcoming 2020 model year, there’s even more to love. To see what we mean, join Sherwood Ford as we run you through the new features and specs of the 2020 Ford Explorer – we think you’ll love it!

2020 Ford Explorer engine options and drivetrain features

There are two distinct motors to choose from on the 2020 Explorer, depending on your desired trim. Base, XLT and Limited models will provide you with a 300-horsepower 2.3-litre EcoBoost® engine, while going with its Platinum model will introduce a 365-horsepower, 3.0-litre EcoBoost® V6 under the hood. Both, however, are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift for maximum responsiveness.

Speaking of the Explorer’s Platinum grade, this model trim will provide you with a towing capacity of up to 5,600 pounds, as well as four-wheel drive capacities. This ensures that you’ll stay centred and controlled no matter what condition lies ahead on the Alberta countryside.

2020 Ford Explorer infotainment and safety features

Ford’s modus operandi has always been providing drivers with the upper echelon of performance and technology in the same package, and the 2020 Explorer proves this by offering a 10-inch centre stack vertical touchscreen to the fold. This screen doubles as a SYNC® 3 interface, which can help you stream, navigate and communicate hands-free with the added benefit of built-in Wi-Fi!
