Jet-Inspired Ford Raptors Delivers Style and Power

U.S. Air Force High Performance F-22 F-150 Raptor

Usually, a F-22 fighter jet would be something we would admire, but not something that we’d blog about. It’s different, though, when Ford gets into the mix and brings the bold and aggressive F-150 Raptor truck. This last July, Ford unveiled a one-of-a-kind, jet-inspired model of the Raptor that was auctioned at the annual Experimental Aircraft Association AirVenture Oshkosh to support the Young Eagles program. Check out some images and features on the U.S. Air Force High Performance F-22 F-150 Raptor in this blog.

F-22 Raptor Styling

The exterior and interior of this special edition Ford Raptor performance truck are inspired by the sleek and deadly lines of the F-22 fighter jet. Some notable design details include red and green position lights in front, a few changes to the driver cockpit, a combination of glossy and matte exterior accents, and left and right mirror skull caps. Bold F-22 branding also makes this black and grey truck stand out.

Engine Modifications

One of the coolest enhancements to the U.S. Airforce Ford Raptor is its key engine modifications. While the standard 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 on the Ford Raptor cranks out 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, the whipple-intercooled version on this model offers a stunning 545 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque. Upgraded brakes, large custom wheels and off-road lighting are other features.

Who bought the U.S. Air Force F-22 F-150 Raptor?

Who ended up with the winning bid for the U.S. Air Force Ford F-22 F-150 Raptor? That would be Gary Ackerman in Las Vegas, Nevada in the U.S. With strong ties to both the Air Force and Ford, we’re sure he will enjoy the vehicle.

We’re definitely not going to get this one-of-a-kind model on the lot here at Sherwood Ford, but if you are interested in any of our powerful and practical Ford F-150 trucks, you can check out our inventory or contact a member of our sales team today.
