  • Many electronic accessories on your truck can be used while the engine is off.
  • The Battery Management System preserves power so that your truck starts when you need it to.
  • Courtesy lamps and headlamps stay on for ten minutes after the engine is off.
  • Power points and USB ports stay on for up to 75 minutes after the engine is off.
  • The radio will stay on for 60 minutes without engine power.
  • If your truck’s battery is getting low, these accessories will turn off sooner than expected.
  • Your truck will give you a message when the battery is low.
  • Certain noncritical features can be disabled if the battery is low while the engine is on.

What to do if your Ford F-150 truck’s battery dies

If you get in a situation where the battery dies, you have two main options. The first is to jump-start your vehicle. The other is to replace the battery, which you should do if jump-starting fails and if the battery is at the end of its lifespan. Luckily, we have guides to help you with both.
