GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT IN SHERWOOD PARK
TO BENEFIT MAKE-A-WISH NORTHERN ALBERTA
- Pre-Registrations for the Guinness World Record Attempt event may be submitted and are open to the first 1000 Ford trucks, including Ford Ranger, SportTrac and F-Series trucks.
- All net proceeds and donations from the event to Make-A-Wish® Northern Alberta. The Foundation grants the wishes of children living with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
- The international event happens July 2nd, 2016 in Sherwood Park, Alberta at the Bethel Transit Terminal where Ford truck owners will gather for an epic meet-up to fundraise for Make-A-Wish.
Ford truck owners from across Canada and the United States wanting to help make a child’s dream come true can pre-register to participate in the Guinness World Record attempt.
Volunteer truck owners from the Alberta F150’s Facebook group are spearheading the Guinness World Records attempt at the most Ford trucks to gather at one location. Organizers Gavin Packwood and Bill Armstrong, both Ford enthusiasts with Alberta F150’s, hope participants at the meet will have an experience to cherish for a lifetime while giving the Make-A-Wish Foundation a much needed boost.
Packwood says, “We’re excited to have Strathcona Transit host the location of our meet-up and for all truck owners to be part of a meaningful event to fundraise for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. All the net proceeds from our $35 pre-registration benefit the Foundation and it’s objectives.”
Alberta F150’s Facebook Group has over 3,400 active members who get together weekly for meet-up’s at various locations throughout the province of Alberta. These truck enthusiasts share their passion for their Ford vehicles by helping to support each other as family and encourage its members to reach out to others in need. Ford F-series is the number one selling vehicle in Canada and king in Alberta truck country!
Volunteer organizer Bill Armstrong says, “Ram truck owners from seven U.S states and Canada helped the Ram Truck brand set a new world record title last April in Texas for the largest parade of 451 pickup trucks. It’s our goal, with the help of our sponsor Sherwood Ford, to smash that record by more than double the number of Ford trucks!”
The Guinness Record event, to be held July 2nd 2016 between 8am and 4pm at the Bethel Transit Terminal, is located at 650 Bethel Drive in Sherwood Park, Alberta. See maps and video below for access routes.
