2021 Ford F-150 – damping force

How does continuously controlled damping work for the 2021 Ford F-150? A computer inside the truck analyzes data collected from several high-resolution sensors around the vehicle. These sensors tell the computer how the vehicle is moving, and in response, it can adjust the vehicle’s valves inside of its shocks. It does this in real-time as you drive, which means that you get the smoothest ride every time.

Potholes and gravel roads are no competition for continuously controlled damping forces. Your truck will respond to them by firming its dampers when a pothole is detected. Yes, the system will detect potholes as you go, giving you the best possible experience on all roads.

When is continuously controlled damping available for the 2021 Ford F-150?

The continuously controlled damping for the 2021 Ford F-150 is a newly available feature coming out this year. Along with two other new features, the available Onboard Scales and Smart Hitch, the continuously controlled damping will be available for order starting in June 2021. That gives us just one month to wait. Deliveries for those orders will be filled starting in late summer this year.

2021 Ford F-150 – Tow/Haul mode

The tuning of your truck will adjust depending on what drive mode you have selected. Tow/Haul mode is specifically tuned with continuously controlled damping to provide a smooth drive with a trailer in tow. It can help make steering more linear by smoothing out the bumps in the road. This makes navigating less stressful for the driver.
