Where is my Ford car’s spare tire?

Spare tire location on your Ford vehicle

Are you wondering where to find the spare tire in your Ford vehicle in case of a flat tire emergency? Look no further because we’ve got you covered. Remember, don’t drive on a spare tire for long. We can get you a proper tire here at Sherwood Ford in Sherwood Park, AB.

Three possible spare tire locations on your car

In most Ford vehicles, the spare tire is located in the trunk under the vehicle’s floor. However, some models may have the spare tire mounted under the rear of the vehicle or in a carrier on the back of the vehicle. Let’s take a closer look at each location:

  • In the trunk: The spare tire is commonly located in the trunk, and you can access it by lifting the trunk floor mat. Some models may have a spare tire cover that you need to remove before accessing the tire. In some Ford vehicles, the spare tire may be located in a well under the trunk floor.
  • Under the rear of the vehicle: Some Ford vehicles, such as trucks and SUVs, have the spare tire mounted under the rear of the vehicle. You can access the tire by lowering it with the crank or by releasing the latch.
  • On the back of the vehicle: Some Ford SUVs may have a carrier mounted on the back of the vehicle that holds the spare tire. To access the tire, you need to release the carrier latch and lower it to the ground.

What if my vehicle doesn’t have a spare tire?

It’s important to note that not all Ford vehicles come with a spare tire. Some models come equipped with tire repair kits instead of spare tires. If you’re not sure whether your Ford vehicle has a spare tire or not, you can check your owner’s manual or contact your local Ford dealer for more information.
